The SuMo-Rhine project is presented in the new brochure of the Coordination Office of the Science Pillar dealing with “Cross-border scientific cooperation, research and innovation in the Upper-Rhine region: projects, initiatives and actors”. The brochure presents ongoing projects, such as the SuMo-Rhine project and initiatives, as well as actors and experience reports. It provides an insight into the structures and instruments for promoting science, research and innovation in the Upper Rhine and presents exemplary projects in line with the cooperation areas of the Upper-Rhine region’s Strategy 2030.
In addition to the presentation of the SuMo-Rhine project, our project coordinator Nora Baumgartner has her say and explains in which forms the SuMo-Rhine project overcomes borders: “The SuMo-Rhine project is characterised by the fact that it overcomes borders: On the one hand, it overcomes national borders by working as a joint project of French and German universities together with a municipality to develop an integrated tool for assessing the sustainability of mobility. On the other hand, it overcomes knowledge borders by enabling cross-border applicability through an inter- and transdisciplinary project team. In addition to scientific standards, practice-relevant criteria are also used to thus support a sustainable transformation of mobility in real terms.”
